Dubrovnik's Old Town is enclosed by roughly 1,940 metres of city walls, largely intact since the medieval and Renaissance periods. A full loop of the ramparts takes about two hours and 1,190 steps, with sweeping views over the Adriatic and the terracotta rooftops below.
